SUMMARY:Joy Ride Progression Series - Ijams
DESCRIPTION:Join AMBC Joy Ride for the South Loop Summer Session Series!! \nGrab a friend or make some new ones at this free event for female\, female-identifying and non-binary riders. This is a way-finding series to get you comfortable navigating the Urban Wilderness on your own. Some trail is technical\, but all sessions are under 7 miles and the pace is casual. Our rides are pressure-free and worry-free. We make sure every rider is comfortable with the group’s pace and that no section of trail is beyond the ability level of the group. \nFor the last session of the series we’re conquering Ross Marble & Burnett Ridge. We will ride from the Mead’s Quarry Parking Lot to Ross Marble\, over to Burnet Ridge\, and walk or ride down Turnbuckle back towards the parking lot. The total distance is around 5 miles. *Please note that the Mead’s Quarry Parking Lot requires a parking tag or $5 fee/vehicle* \nThis event is free\, but please register by August 19th. This helps us ensure we have enough volunteers and supplies. \nOur session series are smaller group rides intended for learning. Each South Loop Summer Session Ride will be limited to 8 riders and will take place the second to last Thursday from May – August (rain date last Thursday of each month). Please let the event host know if you are unable to attend after registering\, so another Joy Rider can take your place. We will have a waitlist available and will reach out if there is room due to a cancellation. If you have any questions or need to cancel\, please contact Claudia at 708-949-0741. \nIn the event of rain or wet trails\, the rain date will be Thursday\, May 29th at 6:00pm. We will communicate via email the night before if we need to reschedule to the rain date. \nPlease bring your helmet\, shoes\, ride snacks\, water\, and a way to carry it on your ride! Bring a spare tube if you have one. PLEASE arrive by 6:00pm for sign-in. The ride leaves promptly at 6:15pm. \nJoy Ride Event Schedule \n6:00 Meet & Sign in \n6:00 – 6:15 Announcements \n6:15 – 8:30 Ride and have fun! \nThank your ride leaders\, sweeps\, and fellow riders for a fun morning! \n— \nRide Leaders & Ride Sweeps needed! \nWe are always looking for ride leaders and sweeps to help with the ride. If you have ridden the South Loop before or feel comfortable riding at an intermediate skill level\, please join us as a ride leader or sweep! \nRiding Levels \nBeginner Plus: I’m comfortable on green and most blue trails. I’m venturing out onto harder trails\, but still have to walk some of the more technical features. Distance: Under 10 miles \nVolunteer: I’m a confident rider. I know the trails well\, and I’d love to help out as a ride leader or sweep! There will be a separate form for you to list your volunteer preferences. SUMMARY:Hill of Truth - Presented by Clinch Valley Trail Alliance
DESCRIPTION:The Hill of Truth Festival started as a 12 hour mountain bike race at Haw Ridge park in 1999. The race\, known as the 12 Hours of the Hill of Truth (or HOT for short) immediately found itself the staple annual event for the local mountain biking community. The event has become more than a race\, but a way for the community to gather and bond together. \n“The heart of the HOT race was always getting people together around a camp fire and sharing stories\, no matter the background or age of the people around the campfire. The race is great and all\, but it’s really the people and the atmosphere that make the HOT so memorable.”

SUMMARY:16TH ANNUAL AMBC FALL FEST
DESCRIPTION:Fall Fest is AMBC’s annual homecoming — a celebration of trails\, community\, and the people who make it all happen. Each year\, folks from across the country (and even around the world!) come together in Knoxville’s Urban Wilderness for group rides\, live music\, local food\, beer\, a massive raffle\, and one of the best silent auctions! \nIt’s more than just a party\, it’s our biggest fundraiser of the year. All proceeds support AMBC’s mission to build\, maintain\, and advocate for trails while expanding access to the outdoors through key programs like our new Trail Blazers\, Joy Ride\, Monthly Work Parties\, Volunteer Sawyers\, and our Trail Crew. \nWe offer free camping onsite\, and the weekend is a chance to reconnect with old friends\, welcome new faces\, and celebrate the trails that connect us all. \nWhether you’re showing up to ride\, volunteer\, dance\, or just hang out — Fall Fest is for you!!! \nAMBC Fall Festival | Oct 31 – Nov 1\, 2025

SUMMARY:Joy Ride - William Hastie
DESCRIPTION:Sunday\, April 26th 9:00am – 12:00pm at William Hastie\nBeginner Plus & Intermediate \nAMBC Joy Ride wants to invite YOU to tackle Hastie with us. Join us for a FUN day on technical terrain\, conquering roots\, rocks and AWESOME trails in William Hastie Natural Area. \nGrab a friend or make some new ones at this free event for female\, female-identifying and non-binary riders 18 years and older. This ride is intended to help women feel more comfortable on beginner plus and intermediate-level terrain in the Urban Wilderness. No one gets left behind\, and everyone leaves with a big smile. \nWilliam Hastie Natural Area has some of the most unique trails in South Knoxville\, and we want to show them to you. We will have rides for Beginner Plus and Intermediate. There are no mandatory gaps or drops\, but this area does require comfortability with rocks\, roots\, bridges\, and techy descents. \nThis event is free\, but please register and complete your 2026 AMBC Waiver by Thursday\, April 23rd. This helps us ensure we have enough volunteers and supplies. \nBring your helmet\, shoes\, ride snacks\, water\, a spare tube if you have one\, and a way to carry it on your ride. Please arrive at 9:00 AM for sign-in! \n— \nJoy Ride Event Schedule \n9:00 – 9:15 Sign In & Mingle \n9:15 – 9:30 Announcements & Meet Your Ride Leaders \n9:30 – 12:00 Ride and have fun! \nThank your ride leaders\, sweeps\, and fellow riders for a fun morning! \n— \nRide Leaders & Ride Sweeps needed! \nWe are always looking for ride leaders and sweeps to help with the ride in Hastie in a fun and safe manner. If you have ridden in Hastie before or feel comfortable riding at an intermediate skill level\, please join us as a ride leader or sweep! \nRiding Levels \nBeginner Plus: I’m comfortable on green and most blue trails. I’m venturing out onto harder trails\, but still have to walk some of the more technical features. Distance: Under 10 miles \nIntermediate: I am a confident rider and can ride my bike on technical terrain. I’m fine with roots and rocks\, comfortable on blue trails and ready for new challenge. Distance: 10 – 15 miles \nVolunteer: I’m a confident rider. I know the trails well\, and I’d love to help out as a ride leader or sweep! There will be a separate form for you to list your volunteer preferences. You don’t have to be an advanced rider to volunteer; just be confident at the level you choose in the volunteer form. \nFor more information on AMBC Joy Ride and upcoming events visit https://ambcknox.org/joyride/ \n*Event is subject to change based on weather and group consensus. Stay tuned for more info & updates.
