Joy Ride wants to see you at Baker Creek!!! Grab a friend or make some new ones at this event for female\, female-identifying\, and non-binary riders.\nIf you are new to mountain biking\, looking to feel more comfortable on dirt\, or just want to try out new trails with a fun group\, this ride is for you!\nThis event is free\, but please register by April 26th. This helps us ensure we have enough volunteers and supplies.\nJoy Ride is here to help women feel comfortable in the woods. No one gets left behind\, and everyone leaves with a big smile. We make sure every rider is comfortable with the group’s pace and that no section of trail is beyond the ability level of the group. We have options for all beginner skill levels\, so come party on single track with us!!\nBONUS: Cycology will be giving a lesson on Becoming More Comfortable on the Bike and Trail. This discussion will focus on three key topics to become a stronger mountain biker\, line of sight\, body position and importance of consistent riding. Cycology will cover basic bike handling skills like reading the trail\, timing in shifting\, body position\, and building endurance and strength. After the talk\, we’ll jump on the trail to practice our riding skills.\nPlease bring your helmet\, shoes\, ride snacks\, water\, and a way to carry it on your ride! Bring a spare tube if you have one. PLEASE arrive before 9:30 AM for sign-in! You don’t have to be an advanced rider to volunteer; just be confident at the level you choose in the follow-up form.\nRiding Levels\nNew Rider: I’m entirely new to mountain biking\, or I’ve attempted a couple of rides but would love to receive a little coaching. You will get on the dirt\, get comfortable with your bike\, gear\, and learn some basic mountain biking skills.\nDistance: Under 5 miles\nBeginner: I’m relatively new to mtb. I like it and want to learn about how to be comfortable on varied terrain with more technical features.\nDistance: 5- 7 miles\nVolunteer: I’m a confident rider. I know the trails well\, and I’d love to help out as a ride leader or sweep! There will be a separate form for you to list your volunteer preferences.
