SUMMARY:Joy Ride Progression Series - Lost Chromosome
DESCRIPTION:Join AMBC Joy Ride for the South Loop Summer Session Series!! \nGrab a friend or make some new ones at this free event for female\, female-identifying and non-binary riders. This is a way-finding series to get you comfortable navigating the Urban Wilderness on your own. Some trail is technical\, but all sessions are under 7 miles and the pace is casual. Our rides are pressure-free and worry-free. We make sure every rider is comfortable with the group’s pace and that no section of trail is beyond the ability level of the group. \nThis week we’re conquering Lost Chromosome. We will ride from the Burnett Creek\, Forks of the River parking lot to Anderson School and back. The total distance is around 3 miles. \nThis event is free\, but please register by May 21st. This helps us ensure we have enough volunteers and supplies. \nOur session series are smaller group rides intended for learning. Each South Loop Summer Session Ride will be limited to 8 riders and will take place the second to last Thursday from May – August (rain date last Thursday of each month). Please let the event host know if you are unable to attend after registering\, so another Joy Rider can take your place. We will have a waitlist available and will reach out if there is room due to a cancellation. SUMMARY:National Trails Weekend - Big South Fork!
DESCRIPTION:Join us to celebrate National Trail Day with a weekend of fun at Big South Fork!!! We’ll camp at the group campsite\, work with the Big South Fork Bike Club\, and Ride BIKES! \nCAMP (6/6-6/9)\nGroup site E1 at Bandy Creek Campground is reserved!!! First come\, first serve camping. There are no hookups\, but plenty of sites to choose from\, and all are a leisurely stroll to the campfire\, pavilion\, and bathhouse. We reserved the group site from Friday afternoon (2 pm) to Monday (noon). \nWORK (Saturday\, June 7th)\nWe’ll meet at the Bandy Creek Visitors Center at 9am EST\, Our good friends with the Big South Fork Bike Club will have our work projects ready\, and AMBC will have all the tools you’ll need for the day. Bring a friend\, sturdy shoes\, safety glasses\, and water! At noon we’ll meet back at Bandy Creek for Lunch and Beers. \nEAT\nSaturday lunch is provided by Joe and his crew with the Big South Fork Bike Club. Saturday Evening is a potluck\, with Harpers Bike Shop providing the protein. Bring a side for 10\, along with needed utensils. We’ll host dinner at the group site pavilion @ 7 pm!!! All other meals are on your own\, so plan accordingly. \nRIDE\n\n6/7 From 2-4:30\nAMBC Social Ride has organized 3 rides for all skill levels.\n6/8 From 10-2\nAMBC Joy Ride will lead a women’s only ride that explores parts of the IMBA Epic route. Please register for the ride. \n6/8 From 9 – Later\nTHE EPIC ride is also a Sunday option\, this ride is not to be confused with the IMBA Epic route. The ride is one of legend\, a ride that typically takes everything you can muster plus a bit more. Rarely repeated\, uphills both ways and always a backcountry adventure\, it’ll be EPIC. Those who are prepared for 30 miles of self-supported riding in the early summer heat are gonna love it. Each rider needs to pack a lunch\, snacks\, and a $20. We’ll be stopping for refreshments at our favorite backcountry lodge – Charit Creek Lodge

DESCRIPTION:Join AMBC Joy Ride for the South Loop Summer Session Series!! \nGrab a friend or make some new ones at this free event for female\, female-identifying and non-binary riders. This is a way-finding series to get you comfortable navigating the Urban Wilderness on your own. Some trail is technical\, but all sessions are under 7 miles and the pace is casual. Our rides are pressure-free and worry-free. We make sure every rider is comfortable with the group’s pace and that no section of trail is beyond the ability level of the group. \nThis week we’re conquering Sidney Belle and Shadow Run. We will ride from the Anderson School parking lot and back. The total distance is around 3 miles. \nThis event is free\, but please register! \nOur session series are smaller group rides intended for learning. Each South Loop Summer Session Ride will be limited to 8 riders and will take place the second to last Thursday from May – August (rain date last Thursday of each month). Please let the event host know if you are unable to attend after registering\, so another Joy Rider can take your place. We will have a waitlist available and will reach out if there is room due to a cancellation. If you have any questions or need to cancel\, please contact Claudia at 708-949-0741. \nPlease bring your helmet\, shoes\, ride snacks\, water\, and a way to carry it on your ride!
