DESCRIPTION:Join us for a fun\, low-pressure group ride at Meads Quarry! AMBC’s Social Ride is a great way to connect with other mountain bikers and get comfortable on the trails. Everyone is welcome!! \nMeet at 5:30 at just between the parking lot and Meads Quarry\, and ride at 6:00! Rides are usually around 1.5 hours and average 5-7 miles. No drop; no one gets left behind! Complete our 2026 waiver before you ride. \nPlease note: We will not ride if it is raining or if the trails are wet — check the trail conditions here. We may pivot to a greenway ride\, so keep an eye on our Instagram and Facebook for day-of updates. \nSocial Ride is every 1st Tuesday at Meads Quarry and every 3rd Tuesday at Baker Creek from spring through fall\, unless otherwise noted. DESCRIPTION:Every New Year’s Day the Big South Fork National River & Recreation Area and the Big South Fork Bike Club invite all mountain bikers to ride the annual Big South Fork “Mail Run” event. Bikers meet at Bandy Creek Visitor Center at 10:00 AM (ET)\, January 1\, and then hit the trails. The ride is traditionally called the Mail Run because the event occurs each year no matter what the weather has in store. \nThe Mail Run consists of a choice of rides varying anywhere from 8-35 miles so bikers can pick the group ride of a length they are most comfortable with. Hot chocolate and coffee will be available at Bandy Creek Visitor Center before the rides starts. Find the event page and contact here.

DESCRIPTION:The infamous Dirty Dozen race\, created in Pittsburgh\, is returning to Knoxville! Find the Facebook event here.\n– $100 cash prize for first place– Beer\, merch\, and gift card prizes for 2nd\, 3rd\, and anyone who completes all 12 hills.-$10 entry fee-Early Registration is encouraged. Please register here.\n\nThis is an incredibly unique race because it combines a casual group ride with a grueling race. We will start meet Crafty (Emory Place) at 9am and start the ride at 10am sharp at a casual no drop pace. Periodically\, we will cross paths with a one of the many noteworthy hills in Knoxville an announcement will be made that points are on the line. When we reach the bottom of the climb the race is on!\nMake it to the top first to receive 10pts\, 2nd = 9pts\, 3rd = 8pts\, and so on… The riders will regroup at the top of each hill and the casual ride to the next will continue. There will be an amp-you-up music bike\, a cheering section on one particular hill\, and lots of trash talk in between each challenge.\nAt the end of the day the points will be tallied and a champion will be crowned!Strava will make things much easier for judging and is recommended but not required.Join us for a one-of-a-kind race as we continue this new tradition in Knoxville!

SUMMARY:Hill of Truth - Presented by Clinch Valley Trail Alliance
DESCRIPTION:The Hill of Truth Festival started as a 12 hour mountain bike race at Haw Ridge park in 1999. The race\, known as the 12 Hours of the Hill of Truth (or HOT for short) immediately found itself the staple annual event for the local mountain biking community. The event has become more than a race\, but a way for the community to gather and bond together.  \n“The heart of the HOT race was always getting people together around a camp fire and sharing stories\, no matter the background or age of the people around the campfire. The race is great and all\, but it’s really the people and the atmosphere that make the HOT so memorable.”

SUMMARY:National Trails Weekend - Big South Fork!
DESCRIPTION:Join us to celebrate National Trail Day with a weekend of fun at Big South Fork!!! We’ll camp at the group campsite\, work with the Big South Fork Bike Club\, and Ride BIKES! \nCAMP (6/6-6/9)\nGroup site E1 at Bandy Creek Campground is reserved!!! First come\, first serve camping. There are no hookups\, but plenty of sites to choose from\, and all are a leisurely stroll to the campfire\, pavilion\, and bathhouse. We reserved the group site from Friday afternoon (2 pm) to Monday (noon). \nWORK (Saturday\, June 7th)\nWe’ll meet at the Bandy Creek Visitors Center at 9am EST\, Our good friends with the Big South Fork Bike Club will have our work projects ready\, and AMBC will have all the tools you’ll need for the day. Bring a friend\, sturdy shoes\, safety glasses\, and water! At noon we’ll meet back at Bandy Creek for Lunch and Beers. \nEAT\nSaturday lunch is provided by Joe and his crew with the Big South Fork Bike Club. Saturday Evening is a potluck\, with Harpers Bike Shop providing the protein. Bring a side for 10\, along with needed utensils. We’ll host dinner at the group site pavilion @ 7 pm!!! All other meals are on your own\, so plan accordingly. \nRIDE\n\n6/7 From 2-4:30\nAMBC Social Ride has organized 3 rides for all skill levels.\n6/8 From 10-2\nAMBC Joy Ride will lead a women’s only ride that explores parts of the IMBA Epic route. Please register for the ride. \n6/8 From 9 – Later\nTHE EPIC ride is also a Sunday option\, this ride is not to be confused with the IMBA Epic route. The ride is one of legend\, a ride that typically takes everything you can muster plus a bit more. Rarely repeated\, uphills both ways and always a backcountry adventure\, it’ll be EPIC. Those who are prepared for 30 miles of self-supported riding in the early summer heat are gonna love it. Each rider needs to pack a lunch\, snacks\, and a $20. We’ll be stopping for refreshments at our favorite backcountry lodge – Charit Creek Lodge
