DESCRIPTION:WHAT!$%!?? A Big Fun Tuesday Group Ride?? YOU BET. Join us for a Novice 6-mile NO-DROP (Seriously) Ride. We’ll gather at 6 for sign-in and then roll from Meads Quarry at 6:30. The 6-mile loop will take us a little over an hour to complete\, and we’ll have ride leaders up front and sweeps in the back. Be prepared with a mountain bike that’s been tuned up\, pumped up\, and ready to roll. Might as well bring some water and snacks\, but be prepared to hang out afterward. Ijams will have a food truck and their beer garden open.  No registration\, but the link to the ride plan is here on Trailforks with a preview below.

SUMMARY:National Trails Weekend - Big South Fork!
DESCRIPTION:Join us to celebrate National Trail Day with a weekend of fun at Big South Fork!!! We’ll camp at the group campsite\, work with the Big South Fork Bike Club\, and Ride BIKES! \nThe Details:\nCAMP (6/1-6/2)\nGroup site E1 at Bandy Creek Campground is reserved!!! First come\, first serve camping. There are no hookups\, but plenty of sites to choose from\, and all are a leisurely stroll to the campfire\, pavilion\, and bathhouse. We reserved the site from Friday afternoon (2 pm) to Monday (noon). \nWORK (Saturday\, June 1st)\nWe’ll meet at the Bandy Creek Visitors Center at 8:30\, Our good friends with the Big South Fork Bike Club will have our work projects ready\, and AMBC will have all the tools you’ll need for the day. Bring a friend\, sturdy shoes\, safety glasses\, and water! At noon we’ll meet back at Bandy Creek for Lunch and Beers. \nEAT\nSaturday lunch is provided by Joe and his crew with the Big South Fork Bike Club. Saturday Evening is a potluck\, with AMBC providing the protein. Bring a side for 10\, along with needed utensils. We’ll host dinner at the group site pavilion @ 7 pm!!! \nRIDE\nPost-workday social rides are organized based on what various groups are interested in. Remember\, Big South Fork is home to an IMBA Epic ride route. Sunday social rides are encouraged\, and this year\, AMBC Joy Ride will lead a women’s only ride. Please register for the ride. THE EPIC ride is also a Sunday option. The ride is one of legend\, a ride that typically takes everything you can muster plus a bit more. Rarely repeated\, uphills both ways and always a backcountry adventure\, it’ll be EPIC. Those who are prepared for 30 miles of self-supported riding in the early summer heat are gonna love it.

DESCRIPTION:Sunday\, April 23rd 8:00am – 5:00pm \nFree event for intermediate to advanced female riders.\nWe need you to bring: Full Suspension Mountain Bike\, Helmet\, Shoes\, Water\, Snacks\nTicket sales are limited to 15 participants + 5 volunteers.\nWe will meet at Harper’s Bike Shop at 8am to make sure everyone’s bikes are ready to shred and to confirm that everyone knows how to get to the trailhead. \nAMBC Joy Ride wants to invite YOU to Paint Mountain. Join us for a FUN day in the backcountry on your mountain bike!  \nGrab a friend or make some new ones at this free event for intermediate to advanced female riders. This ride is intended to help women feel more comfortable on one of the best backcountry mountain bike routes in the region. No one gets left behind\, and everyone leaves with a big smile. Paint Mountain is rated as a black diamond route. There are no mandatory gaps or drops\, but this trail does require an intermediate rider skillset and comfortability with steep\, technical terrain. \nPaint Mountain is a BIG day on the bike. It’s got huge climbs and huge (RAD) descents! The ride will be 20 miles total with 3500ft of elevation. Get ready to earn your turns! Joy Ride leaders and sweeps will be there to assist you along the way. \nWe will meet at Harper’s Bike Shop at 8am to make sure everyone’s bikes are ready to shred and to confirm that everyone knows how to get to the trailhead. Harper’s Bike Shop will be providing limited carpool options\, so sign up early to snag your spot!  \nFrom there we will head to Hot Springs\, NC for an awesome day on single track! And for those that want to stick around for an aprés ride celebration\, we will wind our way down to Big Pillow Brewery for tacos. \nWe need you to bring: Full Suspension Mountain Bike\, Helmet\, Shoes\, Water\, Snacks \nThis event is free\, but please register by April 21st. This helps us ensure we have enough volunteers and supplies. DESCRIPTION:JOIN US THIS FRIDAY\nTO CELEBRATE THE EXPANSION OF WILLIAM HASTIE NATURAL AREA!\n\nAt 3pm on Friday\, December 10th club City leaders\, Appalachian Mountain Bike Club trail-building enthusiasts and Urban Wilderness advocates will gather at the William Hastie Natural Area to celebrate a 27-acre expansion of this section of the Urban Wilderness – as well as the start of construction on 2 miles of new trails in the park.\n*** NOTE: Parking at the site is extremely limited\, please Hike or Bike into the Trailhead at 1302 Margaret Road. Parking and Shuttle is available at the Anderson School Trailhead\, 4808 Prospect Road. Shuttle service will begin at 2:15.  \n“We’re excited about the diversity of experiences made possible by this most recent park addition\,” said AMBC Executive Director Matthew Kellogg. “The William Hastie new trail plan will increase beginner trail opportunities within the park\, add an additional intermediate loop from the trailhead\, and provide two-directional mountain bike trails to the rockier south side of the new property.” \nLast spring\, AMBC put the 27 acres under contract\, with the intent of adding it to the City’s William Hastie Natural Area park. More than 300 proud land donors contributed to make the purchase a reality\, with the City of Knoxville funding $100\,000\, roughly half the purchase investment. Vee Hollow in Townsend matched donations for the land purchase\, and Harper Auto Square has pledged a $20\,000 matching donation toward construction.
