SUMMARY:Annual Big South Fork "Mail Run"
DESCRIPTION:Every New Year’s Day the Big South Fork National River & Recreation Area and the Big South Fork Bike Club invite all mountain bikers to ride the annual Big South Fork “Mail Run” event. Bikers meet at Bandy Creek Visitor Center at 10:00 AM (ET)\, January 1\, and then hit the trails. The ride is traditionally called the Mail Run because the event occurs each year no matter what the weather has in store. \nThe Mail Run consists of a choice of rides varying anywhere from 8-35 miles so bikers can pick the group ride of a length they are most comfortable with. Hot chocolate and coffee will be available at Bandy Creek Visitor Center before the rides starts. Find the event page and contact here.

DESCRIPTION:The infamous Dirty Dozen race\, created in Pittsburgh\, is returning to Knoxville! Find the Facebook event here.\n– $100 cash prize for first place– Beer\, merch\, and gift card prizes for 2nd\, 3rd\, and anyone who completes all 12 hills.-$10 entry fee-Early Registration is encouraged. Please register here.\n\nThis is an incredibly unique race because it combines a casual group ride with a grueling race. We will start meet Crafty (Emory Place) at 9am and start the ride at 10am sharp at a casual no drop pace. Periodically\, we will cross paths with a one of the many noteworthy hills in Knoxville an announcement will be made that points are on the line. When we reach the bottom of the climb the race is on!\nMake it to the top first to receive 10pts\, 2nd = 9pts\, 3rd = 8pts\, and so on… The riders will regroup at the top of each hill and the casual ride to the next will continue. There will be an amp-you-up music bike\, a cheering section on one particular hill\, and lots of trash talk in between each challenge.\nAt the end of the day the points will be tallied and a champion will be crowned!Strava will make things much easier for judging and is recommended but not required.Join us for a one-of-a-kind race as we continue this new tradition in Knoxville!

DESCRIPTION:The Hill of Truth Festival started as a 12 hour mountain bike race at Haw Ridge park in 1999. The race\, known as the 12 Hours of the Hill of Truth (or HOT for short) immediately found itself the staple annual event for the local mountain biking community. The event has become more than a race\, but a way for the community to gather and bond together.  \n“The heart of the HOT race was always getting people together around a camp fire and sharing stories\, no matter the background or age of the people around the campfire. The race is great and all\, but it’s really the people and the atmosphere that make the HOT so memorable.”

We reserved the group site from Friday afternoon (2 pm) to Monday (noon). \nWORK (Saturday\, June 7th)\nWe’ll meet at the Bandy Creek Visitors Center at 9am EST\, Our good friends with the Big South Fork Bike Club will have our work projects ready\, and AMBC will have all the tools you’ll need for the day. SUMMARY:TWO BIKES + AMBC Social Ride Solstice Campout
DESCRIPTION:Join Two Bikes and AMBC Social Ride in celebrating this year’s Swift Campout\, a global call to go bike-camping over the solstice weekend. \nIf you’ve been to the Two Bikes Solstice Campouts then you know the drill. If not\, here’s the skinny: we’re loading up our bikes and lollygagging over to our friends at Low Meadow Farms for a night under the stars. \nThis year will be extra special thanks to a little help with some friends. As usual\, beer and NA bevvies will be provided by our super-buds over at Albright Grove and Crafty Baker Creek. And to really make the whole night go ‘sha-pow’ Appethai will be providing the food! \nAll this is free (with a suggested donation of $20-30) but Riders MUST register and spots are limited. All you need to bring is your camping gear and stoke. \nIf you’re new to bikecamping/touring/packing/whatever you want to call it\, then this is a great way to dip your toes into the water. Not sure what to bring? Check out this list. \nAlso we’re gonna try again this year to lead an all-terrain route (~13 miles) for those looking for a little extra spice. This route will be offered in three different flavors (very chill\, pretty chill and hyper chill). If you want to get rowdy\, you’ll need to show up early. All-terrain rides leave at 3:00pm. \nThis is a 21+ ride. \nChallenge Level: Serious Amateur in Party Pace garb. Black Belt for all-terrain rides. \nDistance/Elevation: 8.4mi/583 ft\, 13.3mi/1161ft (all-terrain) — both distances are one-way \nAverage Pace: 8-10 mph \nLink to Route: Ride with GPS\, Ride with GPS (all-terrain) \nAppropriate Bike: Any bike that can carry your camping supplies: tent\, sleeping bag\, extra food\, water\, etc. If you’re riding the all-terrain route\, obviously bring a mountain bike\, gravel bike or an ATB. \nRider Expectations: \nTemperatures may vary so bring layers. \nThe Classic Road group leaves at 4:00pm. All-terrain rides leave at 3:00pm. \nEven the regular route can be quite challenging and punchy. Be prepared to tackle some decent hills on a loaded bike. \nWe’ll supply drinks and food but bring extra of that stuff if you want. DESCRIPTION:WHAT!$%!?? A Big Fun Tuesday Group Ride?? YOU BET. Join us for a Social 6-mile NO-DROP (Seriously) Ride. We’ll gather at 5:30 for sign-in and then roll from Meads Quarry at 6. The 6-mile loop will take us a little over an hour to complete\, and we’ll have ride leaders up front and sweeps in the back. Be prepared with a mountain bike that’s been tuned up\, pumped up\, and ready to roll. Might as well bring some water and snacks\, but be prepared to hang out afterward.
