SUMMARY:Annual Big South Fork "Mail Run"
DESCRIPTION:Every New Year’s Day the Big South Fork National River & Recreation Area and the Big South Fork Bike Club invite all mountain bikers to ride the annual Big South Fork “Mail Run” event. Bikers meet at Bandy Creek Visitor Center at 10:00 AM (ET)\, January 1\, and then hit the trails. The ride is traditionally called the Mail Run because the event occurs each year no matter what the weather has in store. \nThe Mail Run consists of a choice of rides varying anywhere from 8-35 miles so bikers can pick the group ride of a length they are most comfortable with. Hot chocolate and coffee will be available at Bandy Creek Visitor Center before the rides starts. Find the event page and contact here.

AMBC’s Social Ride is a great way to connect with other mountain bikers and get comfortable on the trails. Everyone is welcome!! \nMeet at 5:30 at Baker Creek Pavilion (1530 Taylor Rd) and ride at 6:00! Rides are usually around 1.5 hours and average 5-7 miles. No drop; no one gets left behind! Complete our 2026 waiver before you ride. \nPlease note: We will not ride if it is raining or if the trails are wet — check the trail conditions here. We may pivot to a greenway ride\, so keep an eye on our Instagram and Facebook for day-of updates. \nSocial Ride is every 1st Tuesday at Meads Quarry and every 3rd Tuesday at Baker Creek from spring through fall\, unless otherwise noted. DESCRIPTION:Join Keep Knoxville Beautiful at the South Knoxville Community Cleanup (SKCC) 2026. On Saturday\, April 18th from 9am to 12pm\, dozens of volunteers will be picking up litter throughout South Knoxville. \nAt the SKCC 2025\, 310 volunteers picked up over 7\,800 lbs of litter in just 3 hours! This event is a great way to participate in a larger effort to keep Knoxville clean\, green\, and beautiful! \nMeet at Chapman Square at 4409 Chapman Hwy. We will be removing litter from South Knoxville roads\, creeks\, and parks. Participants of any age are welcome! We look forward to seeing those who live\, work\, or play in South Knoxville – as well as anyone who wants to lend a helping hand. SUMMARY:8th Annual Veterans Heritage Ridge Run
DESCRIPTION:The 8th Annual Veterans’ Ridge Run is presented by Veteran Heritage Site Foundation & Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 1078. It’s an event for JROTC to compete for the Ridge Cup and for runners to be aware of the city’s Veterans Park. Many runners come to support the Sharp’s Ridge Veterans Memorial Park and Veterans Heritage Site Foundation. The Run will be on the Trails on Sharp’s Ridge. \nRucksack runners will carry a rucksack with 10 pounds of food to bring awareness to the 22 veterans who commit suicide daily due to carrying the burdens of PTSD. Also the 10K Ruck is to bring awareness to homelessness in veterans and Mayor Glenn Jacobs new Hero Hill\, a new tiny home for Knox County homeless veterans. The food will be donated to Second Harvest. \nJROTC will compete for the Ridge Cup for the High School Jr ROTC and the JROTC teams which will be sponsored so there is no cost to the students. Race categories start a few minutes apart\, and scoring is handled through Webscorer\, providing live results and individual lap times. DESCRIPTION:Join us for a fun\, low-pressure group ride at Meads Quarry! AMBC’s Social Ride is a great way to connect with other mountain bikers and get comfortable on the trails. Everyone is welcome!! \nMeet at 5:30 at just between the parking lot and Meads Quarry\, and ride at 6:00! Rides are usually around 1.5 hours and average 5-7 miles. No drop; no one gets left behind! Complete our 2026 waiver before you ride. \nPlease note: We will not ride if it is raining or if the trails are wet — check the trail conditions here. We may pivot to a greenway ride\, so keep an eye on our Instagram and Facebook for day-of updates. \nSocial Ride is every 1st Tuesday at Meads Quarry and every 3rd Tuesday at Baker Creek from spring through fall\, unless otherwise noted. We’d love to see you on the trails! \n*Parking at Ijams (including the Meads Quarry lots) requires an Ijams membership with a parking pass or a one-time parking pass of $5/day that can be purchased in the parking lot.
