This discussion will focus on three key topics to become a stronger mountain biker\, line of sight\, body position and importance of consistent riding. Join us for a FUN day in the backcountry on your mountain bike!\nGrab a friend or make some new ones at this free event for intermediate to advanced female riders. This ride is intended to help women feel more comfortable on one of the best backcountry mountain bike routes in the region. No one gets left behind\, and everyone leaves with a big smile. Paint Mountain is rated as a black diamond route. There are no mandatory gaps or drops\, but this trail does require an intermediate to advanced rider skillset and comfortability with steep\, technical terrain.\nPaint Mountain is a BIG day on the bike. It’s got huge climbs and huge (RAD) descents! The ride will be 20 miles total with 3500ft of elevation. Get ready to earn your turns! Joy Ride leaders and sweeps will be there to assist you along the way.\nWe will meet at Baker Creek at 8am to make sure everyone’s bikes are ready to shred and to confirm that everyone knows how to get to the trailhead. If you’d prefer to go directly to the trailhead\, let us know!\nFrom there we will head to Hot Springs\, NC for an awesome day on single track! King is a Knox County Park with miles of trail available thanks to the hard work of AMBC!  The BLOOM subcommittee of Knox County Parks and Recreation has identified this site as a potential for native pollinators!  This Weed Wrangle will be a step in that direction! Please register at: \nSIGN UP HERE!!! \nEach year since 2020\, Ijams has coordinated Weed Wrangle Knoxville\, a local effort that is part of a nationwide event to build awareness of the threat non-native invasive plants pose to our ecosystem. In addition to building awareness\, this event is about putting boots on the ground and tackling this problem throughout our community. Weed Wrangle Knoxville rescues public parks and green spaces from invasive species through hands-on removal of especially harmful trees\, vines and flowering plants. Volunteers are needed.

This is a FREE event for all ages. DESCRIPTION:Ijams and Appalachian Mountain Bike Club invite you to another year of Big Fun Tuesdays (BFT) at Mead’s Quarry! These events happen every first Tuesday from May-October. BFT is a night to hang with your friends\, hit the trails on your mountain bike or on foot\, rent a paddleboard or kayak from River Sports Outfitters\, or simply enjoy great local music! \nThere will be food truck on site and the Ijams beer garden will be open for food/drink needs. This is a FREE event for all ages. Grab your friends and family\, and come to the quarry for fresh air and fun!  \n  \nNo registration required. \n  \nNOTE: Big Fun Tuesdays are weather-dependent and may be canceled due to rain. Plans will be announced on this page and on the Ijams Facebook event page.

SUMMARY:Big Fun Tuesday Novice Group Ride!!!
DESCRIPTION:WHAT!$%!?? A Big Fun Tuesday Group Ride?? YOU BET. Join us for a Novice 6-mile NO-DROP (Seriously) Ride. We’ll gather at 6 for sign-in and then roll from Meads Quarry at 6:30. The 6-mile loop will take us a little over an hour to complete\, and we’ll have ride leaders up front and sweeps in the back. Be prepared with a mountain bike that’s been tuned up\, pumped up\, and ready to roll. Might as well bring some water and snacks\, but be prepared to hang out afterward. Ijams will have a food truck and their beer garden open.  No registration\, but the link to the ride plan is here on Trailforks with a preview below.
