SUMMARY:Big Fun Tuesday @ Meads Quarry!!!
DESCRIPTION:Ijams and Appalachian Mountain Bike Club invite you to another year of Big Fun Tuesdays (BFT) at Mead’s Quarry! These events happen every first Tuesday from May-October. BFT is a night to hang with your friends\, hit the trails on your mountain bike or on foot\, rent a paddleboard or kayak from River Sports Outfitters\, or simply enjoy great local music! This month features one of Knoxville’s finest: Steph Cabell! \n  \nMay is National Bike Month\, so BFT will feature community partners including Bike Walk Knoxville\, Kickstand Community Bike Shop\, Legacy Parks Foundation\, I Bike KNX and more with giveaways\,  great information\, and some short bike videos that will start closer to dark! If you’ve ever wanted to get involved in the bike community in Knoxville\, this is a great event for you! \n  \nTanasi the Foothills Food Truck and the Ijams beer garden will be open for food/drink needs. This is a FREE event for all ages. Grab your friends and family\, and come to the quarry for fresh air and fun!  \n  \nNo registration required. \n  \nNOTE: Big Fun Tuesdays are weather-dependent and may be canceled due to rain. Plans will be announced on this page and on the Facebook event page.

SUMMARY:Joy Ride: IC King Beginner Ride!
DESCRIPTION:Calling all BEGINNER mountain bikers! Joy Ride wants to see you at IC King!!! Grab a friend or make some new ones at this event for female\, female-identifying\, and non-binary riders age 18 and up. \nIf you are new to mountain biking\, looking to feel more comfortable on dirt\, or just want to try out new trails with a fun group\, this ride is for you! \nThis event is free\, but please register by May 20th. This helps us ensure we have enough volunteers and supplies. \nClick here to register. \nJoy Ride is here to help women feel comfortable in the woods. No one gets left behind\, and everyone leaves with a big smile. We make sure every rider is comfortable with the group’s pace and that no section of trail is beyond the ability level of the group. We have options for all skill levels\, so come party on single track with us!! \nPlease bring your helmet\, shoes\, ride snacks\, water\, and a way to carry it on your ride! Bring a spare tube if you have one. PLEASE arrive before 9:30 AM for sign-in! You don’t have to be an advanced rider to volunteer; just be confident at the level you choose in the follow-up form. \nRiding Levels \nNew Rider: I’m entirely new to mountain biking\, or I’ve attempted a couple of rides but would love to receive a little coaching. You will get on the dirt\, get comfortable with your bike\, gear\, and learn some basic mountain biking skills. \nDistance: Under 5 miles \nBeginner: I’m relatively new to mtb. I like it and want to learn about how to be comfortable on varied terrain with more technical features. \nDistance: 5- 7 miles \nBeginner Plus: I’m comfortable on green and most blue trails. I’m venturing out onto harder trails\, but still have to walk some of the more technical features. \nDistance: Under 10 miles \nVolunteer: I’m a confident rider. I know the trails well\, and I’d love to help out as a ride leader or sweep! There will be a separate form for you to list your volunteer preferences. You don’t have to be an advanced rider to volunteer; just be confident at the level you choose in the volunteer form. \n*Rides are subject to change based on weather and group consensus.
