DESCRIPTION:Join us for a fun\, low-pressure group ride at Meads Quarry! AMBC’s Social Ride is a great way to connect with other mountain bikers and get comfortable on the trails. Everyone is welcome!! \nMeet at 5:30 at just between the parking lot and Meads Quarry\, and ride at 6:00! Rides are usually around 1.5 hours and average 5-7 miles. No drop; no one gets left behind! Complete our 2026 waiver before you ride. \nPlease note: We will not ride if it is raining or if the trails are wet — check the trail conditions here. We may pivot to a greenway ride\, so keep an eye on our Instagram and Facebook for day-of updates. \nSocial Ride is every 1st Tuesday at Meads Quarry and every 3rd Tuesday at Baker Creek from spring through fall\, unless otherwise noted. We’d love to see you on the trails! \n*Parking at Ijams (including the Meads Quarry lots) requires an Ijams membership with a parking pass or a one-time parking pass of $5/day that can be purchased in the parking lot.

SUMMARY:Joy Ride Progression Series - Ijams
DESCRIPTION:Join AMBC Joy Ride for the South Loop Summer Session Series!! \nGrab a friend or make some new ones at this free event for female\, female-identifying and non-binary riders. This is a way-finding series to get you comfortable navigating the Urban Wilderness on your own. Some trail is technical\, but all sessions are under 7 miles and the pace is casual. Our rides are pressure-free and worry-free. We make sure every rider is comfortable with the group’s pace and that no section of trail is beyond the ability level of the group. \nFor the last session of the series we’re conquering Ross Marble & Burnett Ridge. We will ride from the Mead’s Quarry Parking Lot to Ross Marble\, over to Burnet Ridge\, and walk or ride down Turnbuckle back towards the parking lot. The total distance is around 5 miles. *Please note that the Mead’s Quarry Parking Lot requires a parking tag or $5 fee/vehicle* \nThis event is free\, but please register by August 19th. This helps us ensure we have enough volunteers and supplies. \nOur session series are smaller group rides intended for learning. Each South Loop Summer Session Ride will be limited to 8 riders and will take place the second to last Thursday from May – August (rain date last Thursday of each month). Please let the event host know if you are unable to attend after registering\, so another Joy Rider can take your place. We will have a waitlist available and will reach out if there is room due to a cancellation. If you have any questions or need to cancel\, please contact Claudia at 708-949-0741.  \nIn the event of rain or wet trails\, the rain date will be Thursday\, May 29th at 6:00pm. We will communicate via email the night before if we need to reschedule to the rain date. \nPlease bring your helmet\, shoes\, ride snacks\, water\, and a way to carry it on your ride! Bring a spare tube if you have one. PLEASE arrive by 6:00pm for sign-in. You don’t have to be an advanced rider to volunteer; just be confident at the level you choose in the follow-up form. \nRiding Levels \nNew Rider: I’m entirely new to mountain biking\, or I’ve attempted a couple of rides but would love to receive a little coaching. You will get on the dirt\, get comfortable with your bike\, gear\, and learn some basic mountain biking skills. \nDistance: Under 5 miles \nBeginner: I’m relatively new to mtb. I like it and want to learn about how to be comfortable on varied terrain with more technical features. \nDistance: 5- 7 miles \nBeginner Plus: I’m comfortable on green and most blue trails. I’m venturing out onto harder trails\, but still have to walk some of the more technical features. \nDistance: Under 10 miles \nIntermediate: I am a confident rider and can ride my bike on technical terrain. I’m fine with roots and rocks\, comfortable on blue trails and ready for new challenge. \nDistance: 10 – 15 miles \nAdvanced: Let us know what you’re into!
