Knox Bike Racing‘s Wednesday Night MTB Race Series features 10 cross-country mountain bike races held across multiple trail systems in the Knoxville, TN area. Race categories start a few minutes apart, and scoring is handled through Webscorer, providing live results and individual lap times. This series is not USAC-sanctioned, so no racing license is required.

RACE TIMES: All categories must be staged at the start line by 6:10 PM. Expert racers will start at 6:15 PM, with remaining categories released at intervals of a few minutes to spread out the field.

“Be prepared for a challenging, off-road, cyclocross course. It’s going to have it all. Rain or shine or sleet or snow we’ll be out there. All races will take place in Morning Side Park. You’ve got to wear an approved bicycle helmet while on your bike.
The B Race is for first time cyclocross racers or those who approach racing with a casual demeanor. You’re here for fun and you know it. If you win, you’ll get to stand upon a podium and there may be cool prizes.
The A Race is for people who like to push it and for experienced cyclocross racers. A bike racers category. They’ll get to stand on a podium after each race and there will be a cash prize for the series winner.

Outdoor KnoxFest is a three-day urban adventure for people of all ages and skill levels to experience Knoxville from a bicycle seat, paddle board, canoe, trail, climbing wall and more. Teaming with the Dogwood Arts Festival, Outdoor KnoxFest will be Friday, April 19 through Sunday, April 21, 2013 and will benefit Legacy Parks Foundation. The Outdoor Knoxville Adventure Center at Knoxville’s Volunteer Landing will be the hub for this year’s mix of outdoor recreational venues that encourages people of all ages and levels of experience to participate. From guided trail rides, runs, hikes and paddles, the festival showcases Knoxville’s outdoor amenities with a special spotlight on the Urban Wilderness, a 1,000-acre urban playground only minutes from downtown. The event is produced by Legacy Parks Foundation, a Knoxville-based non-profit actively working to make East Tennessee a recreational destination of the Southeast. The Smoky Mountain Wheelmen Bike Club will host a ride through the scenic backroads of East Tennessee ride with the option of 20, 40, and 60 mile routes. The ride honors Harry Pickel who is fondly remembered for his friendly greetings to all that journeyed by his store, the H & H Service Mart on Thorngrove Pike, (circa 1895).
