Ijams is Growing!

tnPlease join us on Thursday November 1 at 10:00 am at the Visitor Center as Ijams Nature Center expands and enhances the Urban Wilderness in South Knoxville.

Join us as we celebrate:

  • Acquisition of a new land purchase – a critically important wooded ridge top in South Knoxville, preserving natural views forever.
  • Expansion of Ijams to 300-acres
  • Anticipation of the opening of 3 Miles of New Multi-Use Trails built by the Appalachian Mountain Bike Club.

Hunting Schedule for Forks of the River WMA

Please note that dove season is currently on at Forks of the River! Please steer clear of the trails at the WMA during hunt dates.

Recreation will be limited to the paved greenway only: September 22-23, November 3-18, and December 22-23.

Partnerships, coordination, and sharing our resources have brought us where we are today, so please take a moment when planning your adventures to keep yourself informed on hunting season dates in the FOR Wildlife Management Area!

We will update the club via club list serve, social media, and onsite signs.

Here’s the AMBC trail work day schedule for Fall/Winter 2012/2013. Knoxville’s trails don’t happen without our local volunteers, and will only grow bigger and better with your help. All workdays start at 9 and end between noon-3pm, depending on number of volunteers and work to be completed.

Workday sponsorships are available. If you or your business is interested in sponsoring lunch for an AMBC workday, please contact Brian Hann at president@ambcknox.org. Thanks for your support!
