Loyston Point

Loyston Point

Built by TVA in two phases, Loyston features some of the most friendly trails one could ask for! It’s a perfect location for new riders, take a lap around the Loyston Loop then pop over to the lake for some swim time! TVA is looking to expand the Loyston trail network, let them know you appreciate the trails, tag them in your social media #tvafun #tva #publiclands. Don’t overlook the fact that Loyston has a campground and store – an ice cream sandwich hits the spot after a few laps!

The Loyston Loop trail is a family-friendly, flowy trail. This machine groomed trail is wider than singletrack with no distinct obstacles and natural elevation changes provide easy to moderate climbs. The trail has scenic views of Norris Lake, drains well and withstands riding soon after precipitation events.

Mill Creek Loop Trail rolls through mature hardwoods and begins/ends on the Loyston Loop. It features lots of rollers, berms and flow. Expect extended gentle climbs and long descents. Flow is the key word here. Navigating Mill Creek Loop Trail is simple. This is one continuous trail with no side trails; however, you’ll cross an old grass road three times. Head north (uphill) on the grass road for a shorter bail out if needed. This trail features relatively wide tread with gentle rollers and is appropriate for fit beginners as well as seasoned vets.

  • Distance: 23 miles
  • When to ride: All conditions
  • Restroom facilities, no water
  • New riders try the Mill Creek Loop first!
